I haven't had the exclamation mark on my phone, but I do have two grey arrows in a circle. They refer to SE sync service being completed. My guess is that in your case, the same sync has failed. Did you set up, or perhaps set up partially, Sony Ericsson sync? It is found under settings - data sync - choose sync app - sony ericsson sync. (My menu translation might be imprecise, sorry.) Please let me know if you could remove the exclamation mark by adjusting those settings.
I seem to be having the same problem - my phone bleeped as if I had a txt message, since then I've got the syncing symbol on my top left hand screen and no idea how to remove it?? Not tried to sync with SE or anything else (that I know of...)
you mean in the status bar area? just drag your finger down the screen from the top to open the status bar, and then click the 'clear' button at top right.
