I was at a party and used my phone for a few minutes 4 hours ago and there was no problem. Battery was 78%. After a while I realized my phone was not turning on. After coming back home I connected it to the wall charger and the light is blinking red. When I hold the start button there is a red light constantly but it won't turn on. Holding volume up and start button also doesn't work and there is no vibration. I tried the yellow reset button near the SIM tray and that didn't work either. My phone had a 16 GB built in memory which was pretty used up (It kept telling me transfer to SD card since memory was above 75%). I was going to buy a microSD card for it but now this happened. Is there something I can do to fix my phone?
You may need to perform a software repair using PC Companion. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 60% battery.
Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).
Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).
Is losing all the memory only way? I am wondering why my phone would suddenly die like this. The last app I downloaded on my phone was weeks ago- at the time I bought it. Why did this suddenly happen? It's very late here so I'm going to try this method tomorrow morning. But I wanted to ask if I should go to a Sony shop first?
I suggest you try to charge for about 2-3 hours and use the button next to the SIM tray. If this does not help,go to a sony service.
I tried pressing the yellow button near the SIM tray and the start button togther- my phone vibrates 3 times together every few seconds but it's still not turning on. Any suggestions?
Get to a sony service if you do not want to try the software repair.
I attempted sowftware repair but PC companion does not recognize my phone. Also, I highly doubt there is any water damage seeing as my phone was with me the whole time and never went any near water. I checked the side flaps too there's no indication of water damage. I'm attempting to use the flash tool for now and I hope it works. Will keep you updated. If it doesn't work I plan to go to a sony shop. But I'm a bit dissapointed. My previous phone (Xperia S) had no such problems for the 2 years I used it. Why did this suddenly happen to my z3?
Flashtool didn't work either. I guess I'll just go to the shop now.
I went to the shop and they told me that something is wrong with the motherboard. My sister bought it for me from abroad and now they're telling me to have the phone fixed there and they won't do it here. I don't even understand what happened to the motherboard or how it could have happened. Can anyone explain?
