CD player noise

Anbody have problems with the noise of the CD player on a CMT-SX7B home audio system - if there is a very quiet section in a CD you can easily hear the sound of the CD spinning - is this normal?

I have the same issue. Also, very poor bass from this system. Quite surprised at these issues for a Sony premium product costing over £400.
