Does anyone know why my VGN-FS115E would tell me my network isn't assigning an IP address. I am using the same wireless network with my mum's acer laptop to write this post which would suggest it's a problem with my computer.
PLEASE help, I've tried q few things and this is still driving me absolutely nuts cos i NEED to be able to use WLAN, any suggestions are much appreciated.
Normally this would be either an encryption key setting or a firewall issue.
Try resetting the wlan encryption key and temporarily turning off the firewall.
I had the same problem with the wireless connection - I'd completely reinstalled XP (Pro) as I was unable to get a recovery CD. I was lucky, there was a "Drivers" folder still on the C: drive before I wiped it so I copied it all to a memory stick. Reinstallation all went OK but then the wireless NIC was not getting a valid IP address from the DHCP server. I just re-ran the Wireless NIC installer that I had in the "Drivers" folder.
The Wireless NIC is an Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG.
