back button and keypad not working when calling

Hi all,

Today i found a strange issue with my xperia z1 , when i was in call using headphone, back button was not working and i need to search for a contact but the keypad was not showing up . is this a bug, any one have such a experience.

i am usnig android 4.2.2 only..

I have found that it is a screen rotation issue, the buttons are all present and correct if I hold the phone upright! Cheers, Martin.

Haha, even that didn't do the job. Ufff Samsung have the best software department. I am big anti fan of Samsung but what to do, I gotta change. :smileyarrow:

Friends, did any one found out a way to fix the keyboard issue. I have tried other keyboard but some how SONY has managed to bloack every way not to use anythinng while in the call. Please help, even to sell my 2 month old Z1 is a pain as I ain't getting half the money I spent on it. Errrrr stock android is far better than this.

You were correct about it, it does work on call when on speaker

Not for me.  It doesn't matter if it's on speakerphone or whether it's upright.  The keyboard and back button still do not work.

Uninstall the smart key app. I also had the same problem, got this solution from some other thread and it worked for me 🙂

Just go to apps and stop smart key app and try it worked for me.

Yes i have a solution. Don't worry u will not be uninstalling it. U will be use this app in only default. Not using in customized mode.. U dont do it as i say, u will that problem again.
Use it and give comments if it works.

Just unistall the smartkey on the xperia Z3 and work !!

I had the same problem with the keyboard and backbutton not working during calls and my simple solution was to open the app SmartKey and inactivate all options and close the app,
