Hey Guys, I just recieved my Z3 from TMO (T-mobile) on 24/2/2015. On the night of 27/2 while puttin the phone in my jacket pocket, I felt a crack on the back glass pannel. The phone has not been dropped, and has only been on a table once, and in my pants pocket once. While carrying the device, it has sat in the inside chest pocket of my jacket with nothing else in the pocket.
I paid for the device in full from TMO, and do not curretly have insurance on it, since it it less than 14 days ago I may still get insurance for the device. Given this information, I am wondering if I should:
I noticed that the crack is verry similar to the one from this thread: here
I have some pictures for you guys as well.
Against a piece of paper.
Against a black cloth.
Sorry to hear this but you would need to either return your device to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/
Ok, I have contacted Xperia Care via chat and their rep Melvin, said that if I send the phone to them it should be covered under warranty. I will check with my Tmobile store to see what they will do first.
Sadly Trued_2 it wont be covered by warranty 😕 my phone had it's back glass cracked on it's own to and yet sony said it isnt covered under warranty since it is visible as physicial damage so this repair will cost you i'm afraid 😕 but i only had to pay £72 for mine and even got 2 piece of thempered glass protector as gift from sony due to what occured with my phone so phone came back as new again and glass protector is awesome so i'm quite thank ful to sony for giving me this as return for free here in sweden.
Tmobile has taken care of it, trough the Buyers Remorse warranty. I have recieved a new phone and need to send the old one back.
Yes it should be covered by the warranty. My front screen cracked on it's own with a very similar crack, and sony repaired it for free.
I took mine back to the vodafone store whern this happened as i didn't want to send it to Sony where i would wait for weeks to be told i had to pay for it to be repaired and pay for it to be returned when i could hand it into voda and they send it off and return it for free (if i decided to not have the repair) - fortunately, they 'repaired' it under warranty which in my case was just just get a replacement handset.
lucky when i had mine sent off then Sony told me this crack i had counted as physical damage and is not covered by warranty 😕 so i had to pay 925SEK to have it re-placed.
Also mine wasn't even dropped on floor yet they call it physical damage and wanted me to pay. But they did give me 2 tempered glass screen protector as gift back due to i was without my z3 for 2-3 days.
