PC Companion Installation message on phone...

When I connect my phone (X10a) to the computer, I am now getting the message: "PC Companion Installation.  Select Start to install PC software on your computer.  Your phone memory card will be automatically mounted.".

Is anyone else getting this message?  It started happening at about the time of the minor update, but I'm not 100% sure if it happened immediately afterwards.  It doesn't seem to be causing any problems - perhaps it's just the new message one gets when plugging the phone in now...?  I'd just like to confirm that the pjhone isn't doing something that it shouldn't be doing, really.  Thanks.

I'm on the X10a as well and I just plugged my phone in to my computer and I didn't get any message about an update being available. PC Companion just went about its usual business saying my phone was up to date. I don't know if that means you get a special update that I don't but either way, you have two options.

1) Ignore the message as you already have updated to the latest firmware.

or

2) Go through with the update process and see what happens.

The choice is yours. I doubt anything would happen if you did the update process through PC Companion but it seems superfluous as you've already updated your phone using the Update Service. What do you think?

I'm not sure what I selected earlier, but the phone is no longer giving me that message.  Oh well, not to worry.  Perhaps a newer version of PC Companion was being added to the computer?  PC Companion often used to tell me that there was a more up-to-date version available, but isn't now doing so.

I just hate non-sensical messages from machines. Angry_Face

Yeah, I ended up getting an update for PC Companion itself later on but not for the X10. Too bad the notification on the computer wouldn't clarify whether the available update is for the software or the X10.

Oh yes, just found PC COmpanion Installation setting under application settings.  Any idea what difference it makes?  I'm inclined just to unmark it, I think.
