If you keep loosing your network signal then you either have a bad reception or a hardware issue and for this you would need to either return your device to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care to have your device inspected http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

You could try performing a system repair using PC Companion as this will often fix issues - This will factory reset your phone and erase all data so best to backup before you begin

Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process

If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

Hi JOHN_f,

You could also look at checking reception with an alternative SIM card, as this may be SIM related.

Let us know how you get on regardless.

After 4.4.4 update I also discovered some seroius range drops, even in the city centre. I've changed the old SIM with a brand new uSIM with LTE but it didn't change a thing. Most times I have issuess receiving calls when the phone is connected to home WiFi to save internet package on system and software updates. I hear a lot of cracks and underwater like voice. When the WiFi is OFF the talk quality is quite O.K (not the best in the world, but also not much to complain about). Can the call quality be damaged when the phone is on its WiFi card? When 3G/4G is not active? I thought that WiFi is a radio range and calls go thru GSM/GPRS so they shouldn't be affected when the signal is strong. Any ideas?

The phone was reinstalled clear after 4.4.4 update with Sony SUS, as sony suggested, so the new/old KitKat was like a fresh from box setup with all that start up guides, choose region, registration and so on.
It's most likely a clear software, no system interferred apps like accu savers, task killers, only Office suit, MS Office, MX player, Asphalt game and all google and camera apps signed and recommended by sony.
Stamina ON, intelligent calls and screen options enabled, Wifi in auto search mode, call settings mostly default, just changed the signal for LTE prior/3G/2G to have fast internet outside.
