If you're talking about a system update then try going to update centre app,  refresh it and check if there are any updates.

Thanks Stocky. I'll try a different computer. We have one with. Vista Ultimate and one with 8. The one with 8 is the one that it didn't work on...

@guitarman use the vista ultimate one.can you also go into settings/apps and slide along to disabled apps and make sure update centre app is not disabled

No disabled apps section. I I'll try pcc on Vista and fallow up. Tnx.
