I bought W8 E16i two days ago. I have internet access with wifi. When I try to open PlayNow, it prompt to update the application. I have updated as prompted. After update, I try to connect to PlayNow. It always show a message, "Could not connect to PlayNow server, please try again later." Other internet services are working fine.
I don't know my friends can connect PlayNow because I did not ask. And no one is using W8.
Check with those who have Sony Ericsson phones.
do you have the correct gmail or how about going to the market on your computer?
play.google.com -> sign in -> look for any app -> install it
Uli, I believe it is Sony Ericsson PlayNow, not Google Play Store.
Yes I have correct gmail account. When I go to play.google.com on my computer and my phone browser. It always says "You haven't accessed Google Play Store app (the white shopping bag icon) on your device with this email account."
So .... is it PlayNow or Google Play?
I think it is PlayNow because its icon is not white shopping bag. Its icon is green play icon in white background with the text PlayNow trademark.
Ok, if there is text PlayNow, that means it is Sony Ericsson's not Google's.
Anyway I can't connect both. Sony Ericsson's PlayNow and Google's Android Market. I think Google's android market do not support W8 E16i because I don't find it in supported device list.
It does .... suggest you Factory Reset phone. However, be aware that this process will erase phone data completely, backup data with Backup and restore app.
Try connecting to PlayNow and Google Play Store prior to restoring data.
