Xperia Z1 C6906 LTE/data not working with TELUS

Hi guys,

I've been trying to get an unlocked C6906 model to work on TELUS LTE/data with no luck at all. Phone has the newest 4.4 kitkat installed. When I put in the SIM it recognizes the SIM for Telus. When I put in the APN info for Telus (APN: sp.telus.com, MMSC Proxy: 74.49.0.18, etc...) the LTE/data doesn't pick up. Tried several other APNs and I still doesn't work. The C6906 model supports 1700 and band 4 which is what Telus runs on so I can't figure out why it doesn't work. The old phone, Samsung S3, worked fine. if anyone has any idea how to get it working please let me know. Could the SIM be old? SIM is from 2012 so I can't figure out why it wouldn't work.

Have you enabled LTE as the preferred mode or have you disabled LTE and are using WCDMA preferred

It is clicked on LTE (preferred)/WCDMA/GSM. What do you think it could be? I know Telus runs on band 4 at 1700. This version of the Z1 should be able to handle that no problem. My next guess is that it could be the SIM card itself.

It could also be that the network isn't using those bands or you need some sort of specific settings from said network - Have you contacted them for help or just to confirm their bands?

Just verified that TELUS runs on 850/1900 and LTE Band 4. The phone should be compatible with this. I'm going to check with Telus. My next move would be to get a new SIM

Some networks offer both a 3G and 4G packages so some members thought that because their phone was 4G compatible then they should have 4G when their package didn't include 4G

@automatrix77. Yes you are prolly right, get a new sim card. Sim card as it gets older becomes more prone to issues, also if that sim card has not been used for more than 90 days, thats already obsolete. Hope tgis helps..if not, call *611 and ask for assistance.
