Xperia 10 II disabled its 52mm Telephoto cam

Recently I got an Xperia 10 II and I found two interesting things.

First, Xperia 10 II uses almost the same CMOS as Xperia 10 Plus.

Xperia 10 II:

26mm Wide-angle: IMX486

52mm Telephoto: Samsung s5k4h7yx

16mm Ultra-wide-angle: Samsung s5k4h7yx

Self-cam: Samsung s5k4h7yx

Xperia 10 Plus:

Wide-angle: IMX486

Telephoto: Samsung s5k4h7yx

Self-cam: Samsung s5k4h8

Second, as Sony introduced Xperia 10 Plus owns  2x optical zoom, 10 II uses the same CMOS, we should own this feature right?

For Xperia 10 II, from top to bottom, the first cam is 16mm Ultra-wide-angle, the second one is 26mm Wide-angle, the third one is 52mm Telephoto.

I tested on FW: 59.0.A.8.33,  on 2x mode. I think this picture should be taken by Telephoto cam, right? It is a 8MP sensor, but I got a 12MP photo.

So I tried to cover Telephoto cam with my finger when taking photo in 2x mode, as I thought, I got a "2X zoom" photo although Telephoto cam is coverd. This picture should only be taken by 26mm Wide-angle cam.

From my knowledge, xiaomi A2 & redmi 7A also uses imx486, but they don't support optical zoom. So Xperia 10 II never uses its Telephoto cam and it doesn't support 2x optical zoom at all. You could test on your own phone.

I understand how intriguing it is to help make a difference, I believe that's what unifies us.

I definitely didn't mean to brag and not looking for gratitude, but this was not the first incident where you misunderstood my motives.

Yes, I saw the feedback wasn't providing an immediate solution, but some of the issues are resolved on their own, my guess would be that with multitude of the same reported issues from users, they work it out.

Nor do I, but when this happens it's really sad. It's unbelievable and Sony should remedy by listen to its users not to close markets (there are too few to receive in time issues for low and mid devices, most people really don't care Sony knows or not to prepare or test a device)! If you can suggest to them please do it I tried everything. At least for Android 11 upgrade they must fix its stock camera. These devices are quite expensive and few people will buy it if not return them to stores (I know cases even for 1II because of stock superior mode camera for selfies that is really not up to its price). 10 II and L4 are amazing in most regards but issues like these screw them gracely. Thank you for helping!

I know man, I do report as many unsolvable issues as I can find, and with my own devices.

you're doing them favors by reporting these findings of yours, just wanna say, I do think it's quicker to get in touch with the support right away, instead of here where only users would help, keep it up and stay lit bruh.

You should know we are more than 2 people testing these, fans of Sony. One works to a store like Amazon in my country an notifies me also. Sad when it's only hope while these were solve so easily in the past! Thant is why when you want to help test them too with the same devices. Thank you anyways!

As I was saying, theoretically 59.0.A.8.45 should solve these camera issues but now it's practically upgraded to 59.0.A.8.45 and stock camera is still in the same bad condition. Bugs in every mode, freezing while focusing, bad manual mode and focus, extreme imprecise auto focus and slow finding objects. Unusable for night and HdR shots quality.

So all our complaints and all tests done and all 'so called helping hands', look how Sony is BS with grace upon you and all 10II users!
